There is no sales tax on our flowers since we are a farm and
grow them ourselves. | We keep plenty of
beautiful pansies all winter by growing over 100,000 Pansies
and Violas in
the fall with over 50 varieties. Pansies are grown
in flats of 36, 18, and 6” pots. Flowering cabbage and kale
are grown in 6.5” pots. We also grow 1800 mums in 8” mum

Trees and Shrubs |
|

 |
We grow one of the largest selections of trees
and shrubs in the North Carolina Triad area. Our plants are well suited for
this region. We will also consult you on the planting and
caring of your trees and shrubs
Mitchell's can help you design a custom landscape plan to suit you
and your house. Just make an appointment and bring by
measurements of the outside of your house, including
window height and width; pictures help.
Fall, winter, and early spring is the best time to plant
trees and shrubs. The roots get a chance to grow out
before it gets too hot and dry in the summer, which is less
stressful on the plant.

Thank you for helping our Poinsettia Open House to be a
great success. We have collected the ballots from the
poinsettia trial voting and posted the results – click on
the link below. We are one of two commercial greenhouses in
the state to hold poinsettia trials. The information
gathered each year helps the national poinsettia breeders
decide which poinsettias they will release to the market in
the future. Don’t forget to mark your new calendar for
December 2, 2012 for next year’s open house. It will be from
12:30-4:30.

Easter Flowers |

Easter is arriving on Sunday April
8th, 2012. We will be busy all winter growing plants for
the spring. We stock a large selection of potted plants blooming
for Easter. There are hundreds of flowering azaleas, flowering
hanging baskets, ferns, mums and lilies. We are growing over
11,000 beautiful geraniums. Our quality and selection is superb.
Our geraniums are well branched and compact with various shades
of red, pink, salmon, |
|
violet, and white. Sizes range from 4"
pots to 10" pots. We also have hanging baskets with three plants
in each. Our first crop starts selling around March 25th and we
will constantly have fresh geraniums. We have large crops that
are scheduled to be ready for Easter and Mother's Day. We will
also be forcing hundreds of azaleas into bloom for Easter to be
wrapped. The azaleas are the same hardy varieties that we grow
for your landscape. We will have potted mums that we
are growing to be wrapped for Easter. Easter Lilies will also be
available. We will take orders for Easter lilies to wrap for
churches. Delivery is available for large quantities.
