Jim, Judy and Jay Mitchell of
Mitchell’s Nursery & Greenhouse invite you to their
5th Annual National Poinsettia Open House. With 51 varieties and
over 8,000 plants you will be treated to an array of beautiful
color as you step inside the greenhouse. They have red, white,
pink, burgundy and plum varieties
along with Winter Rose
poinsettias. Vote on your favorite variety, enjoy the
refreshments and register for the door prizes.

Many people believe
that Poinsettia's are poisonous to children and pets.
However, this is not correct. In the 1970s, Ohio State
University conducted a study
which showed that a 50-pound child could eat 500 of the
bitter tasting bracts
and only suffer a mild upset stomach. The Aztecs even used
the milky sap
of the poinsettia as medicine to counteract fevers.
